Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper at a Vancouver- and Toronto-based company. As a Bookkeeper, you will maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, and perform various bookkeeping tasks using manual and computerized systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in using bookkeeping software.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate and prepare payroll cheques
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
- Maintain financial records and reconcile accounts
- Establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Prepare general ledgers and financial statements
- Post journal entries
- Prepare tax returns and other financial reports
- Prepare the trial balance of books
Requirements:
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- Experience: +1 year in bookkeeping or a related field
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Proficiency in using bookkeeping software and spreadsheets
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with accounts payable, receivable, and bank statements
- Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
