Job Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper at a Vancouver- and Toronto-based company. As a Bookkeeper, you will maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, and perform various bookkeeping tasks using manual and computerized systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in using bookkeeping software.

Responsibilities:

  1. Calculate and prepare payroll cheques
  2. Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  3. Maintain financial records and reconcile accounts
  4. Establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  5. Prepare general ledgers and financial statements
  6. Post journal entries
  7. Prepare tax returns and other financial reports
  8. Prepare the trial balance of books

Requirements:

  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience: +1 year in bookkeeping or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Proficiency in using bookkeeping software and spreadsheets
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, receivable, and bank statements
  • Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
